What a THC distillate syringe is
A THC distillate syringe is a glass syringe filled with cannabis oil refined by short-path distillation. The oil holds THC and little else. Cannabinoid content runs from 80% to 95% THC by weight. One 1 mL syringe holds about 0.95 g to 1 g of oil. At 90% THC, that syringe carries about 850 mg to 900 mg of THC.
Distillation separates cannabinoids by boiling point under vacuum. That step removes terpenes, flavonoids, waxes, and chlorophyll. The oil is decarboxylated, so THCA has converted to THC. The result is active when eaten, near-odorless, and light amber to clear.

How it differs from other concentrates
Live resin, rosin, and hash keep plant terpenes and fats. Distillate does not. Unflavored distillate has no taste and no smell. Terpene-infused lines add 0% to 10% terpenes by volume after distillation.
Is a Distillate Syringe Stronger Than Edibles?
What is inside the syringe
- Cannabinoids: 80% to 95% THC in most batches. Some brands blend CBD, CBG, or CBN.
- Terpenes: added back in flavored lines. Unflavored distillate contains none.
- Carrier oil: most syringes have none. A few brands add MCT oil for cartridge use.
- Volume: 0.5 mL, 1 mL, and 2 mL sizes are common. Barrels are borosilicate glass with a luer lock or blunt steel tip.
How to use it
- Warm the syringe. Distillate is thick at room temperature. Hold it in your hand for 5 to 10 minutes, or set it in a warm water bath with the cap on.
- Read the marks on the barrel. A 1 mL syringe has 10 marks of 0.1 mL. At 90% THC, 0.1 mL is about 85 mg of THC.
- Dose by weight, not by drops. Use a gram scale for edibles and tinctures.
- Wipe the tip with isopropyl alcohol, then cap it for storage.
Routes: dab it on a quartz banger at 450 F to 550 F, fill a vape cartridge, mix it into butter or cooking oil, or place a measured amount under the tongue. Eating distillate brings onset in 30 to 120 minutes.

Dosing
Many US states set 10 mg THC as one edible serving and 100 mg as the package limit. A person with no tolerance may start at 2.5 mg to 5 mg. A 1 mL syringe at 90% THC holds about 90 servings of 10 mg. Treat the syringe as a bulk container, not a single dose.
Labels and lab testing
State-licensed products carry a batch number and a lab result. Check potency in mg THC per unit, plus tests for pesticides, heavy metals, residual solvents, and microbials from an ISO 17025 lab. ASTM International published D8440 in 2023, a standard for cannabis labeling and packaging. Hemp-derived distillate falls under federal law when delta-9 THC stays at or below 0.3% on a dry weight basis.
Storage
Keep the syringe capped and upright in a dark place at 60 F to 70 F. Heat and light darken the oil and raise the chance of oxidation. Shelf life is about 12 to 24 months. Do not refrigerate, because cold oil becomes too thick to push through the tip.
Legal status
Cannabis is a Schedule I controlled substance under federal law. State programs set their own possession limits, purchase limits, and rules on where you can consume. Check your state rules before you buy.
